You are unique. Your ADHD is a part of you. You have your own ways of thinking and feeling. Person-centred counselling & coaching for adult ADHD works with you, not on you.
Modern life makes increasing demands, and it can seem difficult to fit in. From school onwards we are told to ‘sit down, shut up and pay attention’, when this is just not us.
People with ADHD are much more likely to suffer from stress, anxiety disorders, clinical depression, and other conditions. Worse, people with ADHD are generally less able to cope with these additional challenges.
I have ‘adult ADHD’, and I understand that options for managing ADHD are limited. Most psychotherapy for ADHD focuses on reinforcing life skills such as time management. This may, or may not, be what you need.
What is desperately needed is something deeper. By comparison, the non-directivity and empathic understanding of a genuinely person-centred / client-centred approach to psychotherapy offers something really unique and valuable to adults with ADHD.
Person-centred therapy can help you make sense of things in your own way, and find your own solutions, so that you can live with increased confidence and dignity.
