Tim Harvard-Sweeting, person-centred therapist and coach.

I hope your search for a therapist is going well

Here’s a bit about me. I trained in person-centred psychotherapy at the University of Nottingham.

Born and bred here in Penzance, Cornwall, I work with clients locally, nationally, and overseas.  After living and working all over the world, I am now back in the Mount’s Bay area with my family.  Over the years my experience has shown me that the real meaning lies beneath people’s words and actions.

Although I work in a holistic, person-centred manner, I sometimes incorporate influences from compatible traditions, such as mindfulness, existentialism and positive psychology. This is not ‘integrated’ therapy because techniques are only implemented as an expression of a genuinely person-centred approach, and always with full respect for the client’s perspective and self-determination.  I work in compliance with the BACP’s ethics framework with the simple aim of providing good therapy.

Always looking for ways to improve what I do, I am currently studying Buddhist psychology and Zen therapy, which is highly compatible with the person-centred approach.

It is such a privilege to be invited into someone’s personal world, and to help them on their journey towards getting more from life.  I would still want to do this work even if I didn’t need to charge for it!
